10 year old Cameron Kelly, who trains at Murakwai Judo Club in Cregagh & Moneyrea Comunity Centres, has joined a very small select group of Judo players from Northern Ireland who have medalled at the British National Championships.

Earlier this year Cameron won a Bronze medal at the Welsh Open in Cardiff, a Silver Medal in the under 16 Northern Ireland trials and became Northern Ireland Schools Champion (representing Leadhill Primary) but on Sunday 4th October, Cameron topped all his previous results when he travelled to London with his coach, Scott Mayne, to compete in the British National Championships for 10 & 11 year olds where he won a well-deserved Bronze Medal.  This is a fantastic result for Cameron and for Murakwai and we hope he continues to improve and go one better next year, Cameron now has his sights set on the upcoming Irish Open in Dublin in Novebember.
