Silver Medal for Kirsty Kee at the British Championships

Kirsty Kee had her best result to date with an excellent performance and a Silver medal at this year’s British Championships.  Last year Kirsty Kee won Bronze at the same event but this year she went one better.
Kirsty Kee – Silver – U48kgs British Champioships 2009

Kirsty defeated Stephanie Hahn of the Northern Home Counties in the quarter-final with a Wazrai throw & a hold down.  In her semi-final, Kirsty defeated Isobel Routledge from the North West with another hold down.  This put Kirsty into the Final with Megan Henderson from the North, with the chance of becoming British Champion.  Unfortunately Kirsty was thrown with just over 1 minute to go and had to settle for well deserved Silver medal.

Jodie Kee & Alan Kerr both represented Murakwai & Northern Ireland at the same event.  Alan was competing at the British Championships for the first time and unfortunately lost both his fights.  Jodie was looking to add to her 2 Bronze medals and 1 silver medal she had won at the British Championships in the previous 4 years, unfortunately, Jodie won 3 fights out of 5 and ended up finishing in 7th place.
