Murakwai a good day at the North West Open in Derry on Saturday. 3 of the Golds were won by coach Scott Mayne who won the u90kgs, the Open weight and was part of the ‘A-Team’ who won the team event (along with Gavin Taylor & Declan O’Kane). Alan Kerr also had an excellent day winning Gold u73kgs in the Juniors & a Silver in the Seniors. The Bronze medals were won by Caitlin Eachus at u48kgs, Cameron Kelly at u46kgs and Iain Kelly in the upper Kyus.

A great weekend for Murakwai at the Ultimate Judo Open in Edinburgh! The club won an excellent 2 Golds, 2 Silvers & 2 Bronzes! The bronzes were won by Rory Kelly & Robyn Kelly, the silvers were won by Scott Mayne & Daniel Mayhew and the 2 Gold medallists were Alan Kerr & Iain ‘the killer’ Kelly.

Murakwai had a much better day on day 2 of the Irish Open in Dublin. Jodie Kee picked up 3 silver medals in Cadet, Junior and Senior, also in the Cadets there were bronze medals for Rory Kelly, Chris Connolly and Jack Eachus.

It was a disappointing first day for Murakwai at the Irish Open in the City West Hotel in Dublin. Robyn Kelly was the only medallist winning a hard earned bronze medal in the under 40kg category. Good luck to all those fighting tomorrow!

Congratulations to all Murakwai Players who fought at the Grading on Saturday.  Rory Kelly fought extremely well earning his 1st Kyu and getting 27 points towards his Black Belt.  Read the rest of this entry »
