Several players from the club gained promotions at the Grading last Saturday in Ulidia, Carrickfergus.
In the Juniors Daniel Hodgett moved from middle to top Orange, Conor Kelly gained his Green belt, Jack Eachus gained his Blue, Daniel Mayhew gained his Brown and Caitlin Eachus moved from bottom to middle Blue.
In the Seniors Andy Rea was awarded his Senior Orange at his first ever grading, Mal Brown moved from bottom to top Orange, Davey Frey was awarded his Senior Blue belt & Iain Kelly was awarded his Senior Brown.
2 of our more senior players Adam McCune & James McCullough both achieved their 1st Kyu’s, James, who was fighting competitively for the first time in 15 years also gained 20 points toward his Black Belt!
Kirsty Kee won her only fight to gain another 10 points toward her Black Belt and Alan Kerr gained another 10 toward his 2nd Dan.
Rory Kelly was definately the most unfortunate player of the day, he won his first 2 fights by 10 earning him a line-up for his Black Belt. He then won his next 2 flights by 10 meaning he was 1 win away from his Black but he lost his last contest, he now needs 33 more points for his 1st Dan.
