It was a great day for Murakwai at today’s Dan Grading at the Hammer Youth Centre in Belfast. We have 3 new 1st Dan Black Belts, James McCullough and Adam McCune secured their final points and Ricky Mayne completed his line up. Scott Mayne collected the remaining 40 points he needed to secure promotion to 4th Dan.
Good Performances at the North West
6 players from the club travelled to St Helens last weekend to compete against some of the top players in Britain at the North West Open. Robyn Kelly came the closest to claiming a medal finishing in 5th place and was extremely unlucky not to win her Bronze Medal contest. Read the rest of this entry »
Double Gold for Kirsty at Irish Uni’s
Congratulations to Kirsty Kee who won 2 Golds at her first Irish Intervarsities last Saturday in Dublin. Kirsty won the u57kg category and was part of the Queens girls team along with Sarah McDaid & Olga Lyashevska who won the girls team event.
South Eastern Girls Team win RDS!!
There were 15 medals for Murakwai at the RDS Tournament today in the Joey Dunlop Centre, Ballymoney. There were 5 Golds won by Kiah Reid (u30kg), Katie Wills (u33kg), Tori Kee (u40kg), Sophie Elliott (u44kg) and the Girls Team Captain Caitlin Hull (u52kg).
