Jodie Kee today added to yesterday’s fantastic results claiming Bronze at u57kgs in the Junior US Open. After an excellent Ippon throw in the quarter finals against American Kimberly Otto, Jodie was disappointed not to make the final losing narrowly to Gabriela Herrera from Puerto Rico in the semi final before claiming bronze ahead of another American Samantha Martin. Congratulations to all!
US Open Bronze for Robyn!
Robyn Kelly won Bronze earlier today at the Junior US Open in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Cameron Kelly finished 5th & was unlucky not make the Final, after narrowly losing to the eventual winner in the semi-final, he lost his Bronze medal contest in golden score. Daniel Mayhew finished in a very respectable 7th place. Congratulations to all 3 & good luck to Jodie Kee who fights tomorrow…
Murakwai taking on the US!!
Good luck to Jodie Kee, Daniel Mayhew, Robyn Kelly & Cameron Kelly who head to America tomorrow to compete in next weekend’s Junior US Open in Fort Lauderdale. They will compete in the tournament next Saturday & Sunday and will then take part in a 3-day training camp. Big thank you to Sport NI & Castlereagh Borough Council for helping to make this trip possible.
4 Players selected for UK School Games
Congratulations to Rory Kelly, Jodie Kee, Caitlin Hull & Daniel Mayhew for being selected to represent NI at the UK School Games! The event will take place this September in Sheffield. This will be a first for Caitlin & Daniel with Rory going for the 2nd year in a row and Jodie for the 3rd, well done to all 4!
Summer Classes
Adult classes in Ballybeen (Tuesday nights) & Cregagh (Thursday nights) will continue throughout the summer (apart from week beginning 11th July) both classes are 8-9.30pm.
Kids classes will resume on Tuesday & Thursday nights at normal times week beginning 8th August (Tuesday senior class will revert to 8.30pm start).
Monday night classes in Bangor & Friday classes in Moneyrea are off July & August and will start back week beginning 5th September at usual times.
